CHILDREN'S CLASSES

Our goal is to help share God's Word with children of all ages in our community.

Children are born with the enthusiasm to learn and that is why we encourage our children to relate what they learn to their lives (according to their level of development). We are happy to be able to offer our curriculum to different ages. Learn more about the classes we offer and make plans to visit us soon.

Babies - 2 years

There is a lot of development happening in the first few years of life. To teach this group, we rely on two areas: experiences of meaning and the  repetitive routines .

Everything is learned through the senses of touch, taste, smell, hearing and sight. Knowing what to expect and being able to use your skills is reassuring and confidence-building at the same time. Babies and toddlers have fun when teachers sing the same songs over and over again and pull out familiar objects one by one.

The three curriculum units we use are:

  • God Created (6 Lessons)

  • God Is With Me (6 Lessons)

  • Jesus Is My Friend (6 Lessons)

Children of this age have a lot of energy and a desire to learn to use their new skills. To teach this group, we focus on three areas: visual aids, imitation, and artistic expression.

We use visual aids in teaching the Bible stories to maximize your attention. With pretend play, children imitate what is happening in the Bible story being taught. We encourage children to develop their skills using paint, crayons, playdough, and cutting and gluing.

The curriculum we use contains:

  • The Old Testament (101 Lessons)

  • The New Testament (79 Lessons)

7 - 11 years

Children in this group already have more experience in structured classes when they go to school. They also begin to show discernment between good and evil. To teach this group, we rely on two areas: in  use the bible and  ask questions.

In reading the Bible stories, a fun game is for the teacher to say a reference (such as Ephesians 6:1). Then the children hurry to find the verse in their Bible and start reading. We encourage you to think about what happened in the story and whether it was right or wrong or why someone acted that way.

The curriculum we use has over 300 Bible lessons. Each lesson contains:

  • A coloring sheet with bible verse

  • A worksheet (for more children)

  • A worksheet (for larger ones)

  • a bible crossword
